Changelog
What's new in each release of Incident Detection, newest first.
0.32.0 (build 41) — August 30, 2026
- Added home-screen widgets: Call for help, Share location, and Reminders.
- Remote location sharing ("Everywhere") now keeps 7 days of history per person, with a new screen to browse past sharing sessions.
- The app now warns before adding an emergency number (112/911/999/etc.) as an emergency contact, since automated messages or calls to those numbers from a third-party app aren't reliable.
- Guardian mode: clearer Guardian/Tracked pages, notifications when a pairing ends from either side, and a high-power broadcast option.
- Fixed several ways an emergency alert could go missing, plus fixes for Strava uploads, notifications, and display issues on some phones.
0.31.0 (build 40) — August 28, 2026
- Added standalone Reminders: set up your own prompts (like hydration reminders) independent of a tracked session, including a windowed "every N minutes between two times" option.
- Reminders now pop up full-screen, even over a locked screen.
- Added press-and-hold support to +/- steppers, and a pulsing hint on the end-session button.
0.30.0 (build 39) — August 25, 2026
- Added group radar sharing for Bike sessions — share one bike radar's live signal with everyone riding together over Bluetooth (experimental).
- Heart-rate and cadence sensors now show battery level too, with a low-battery alert for any paired sensor.
- Bike sessions now show live Grade (climb/descent steepness) instead of elevation gain.
- Radar alerts now vibrate, with a distinct cue for a fast-approaching vehicle.
0.29.0 (build 38) — August 24, 2026
- Added an opt-in landscape mode for Home and most other screens.
- Refreshed the app's header design and unified colors throughout.
- Improved radar tracking accuracy when multiple vehicles are nearby at once.
- The radar alerts toggle now takes effect immediately, mid-session.
0.28.0 (build 37) — August 23, 2026
- Added a red screen flash for a close pass, or for a vehicle closing fast, even before it's near enough to fully alert.
- The app now detects when a paired bike radar's detection is switched off (light-only mode) and shows this clearly instead of a misleading signal.
- Redesigned the radar bar for better visibility.
- Moved "Stop session" to the header, away from other action buttons, to prevent accidental taps.
0.27.0 (build 36) — August 22, 2026
- Added bike radar battery level, shown on the session screen and in Settings.
- Redesigned the session summary into a swipeable Stats/Charts/Incidents/Radar view.
- Fixed session photos sometimes not previewing correctly on older sessions.
- Fixed Strava sometimes showing "Connected" after restoring a backup, even when it wasn't.
0.26.0 (build 35) — August 21, 2026
- Added bike radar support (iGPSport SR Mini): a live proximity signal bar and close-pass alerts.
- Reorganized Settings into clearer tabs.
- Added an opt-in automatic zoom that adjusts with your speed.
- Redesigned the dark map style, and added an elevation chart corrected to sea level.
0.25.0 (build 34) — August 20, 2026
- Added the Remote Location Beacon: an opt-in Guardian mode tier that shares a Tracked person's live location with Guardians over the internet, not just within Bluetooth range.
- Redesigned Guardian broadcasting into separate "Nearby" and "Everywhere" toggles.
- The automatic portrait-flip for bike mounts is now an opt-in setting, off by default.
- Fixed several display and Guardian mode reliability issues.
0.24.1 (build 33) — August 19, 2026
- Fixed the About screen not scrolling on some devices.
- The app now locks to portrait orientation, including upside-down for bike mounts.
Earlier releases (0.1.0–0.24.0, builds 1–32)
Before its first production release, the app grew quickly from a simple crash detector into its current form. Highlights from that period:
- Automatic crash detection for cycling, running, walking, hiking, and driving, with SMS/call emergency alerts and a manual "Call for help" button.
- Support for Bluetooth heart-rate, cadence, and treadmill sensors, plus GPX route import and turn-by-turn navigation.
- Check-in mode and Gym mode, for safety monitoring that doesn't require tracking a route.
- Guardian mode: Bluetooth presence tracking between two paired phones, with an automatic alert if signal is lost.
- Strava integration for uploading sessions.
- Translations into 15 languages, including full right-to-left support for Arabic.
- A built-in test alert, to confirm your emergency contacts and permissions are actually set up correctly.
- Plus many smaller fixes and refinements to navigation, session tracking, and the app's overall design.
