Terms of Service — ID Tools

1. Acceptance of these terms

By downloading, installing, or using ID Tools (the "app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These terms apply alongside the Privacy Policy, which governs how the app handles data.

2. What the app does

ID Tools is an Android app that provides standalone trip utilities, including:

• a compass screen with heading, GPS fix status, altitude, and Plus Code sharing,
• a GNSS information screen with satellite and fix details,
• map-based navigation and route planning using MapLibre,
• saved routes and waypoint-based navigation,
• settings for units, theme, and map theme.

The app can display map tiles from the configured map provider when map features are used. Full details of what is processed and stored are in the Privacy Policy.

3. Offline-first design, but not offline everything

The app is designed so its core data stays on the device and can be used without a developer-hosted backend. That does not mean every feature is always available offline:

• map tiles must still be fetched from the configured map source when they are not already cached,
• GPS and GNSS features depend on the device's own hardware and operating system support,
• sharing or copying text depends on the Android app or service the user chooses.

4. Not a safety device — no guarantee of correctness

The app is a utility tool, not a certified safety, navigation, or emergency device. Bearings, distances, fix quality, map data, Plus Codes, and other outputs are best-effort software results and may be incomplete, delayed, stale, inaccurate, or unavailable.

The app may depend on:

• your phone's sensors and GPS/GNSS hardware,
• the Android operating system,
• map provider availability and cached map data,
• third-party services selected by the user for sharing.

Any of these can fail or behave differently across devices, regions, or network conditions.

5. Use at your own risk

You use the app entirely at your own risk. The app does not guarantee that its readings or navigation results are correct, current, or fit for a specific route or situation. You remain solely responsible for:

• your own safety and judgment,
• checking map and route information before relying on it,
• following local laws and restrictions,
• verifying that any copied or shared location information is correct.

6. "As is" — no warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, or non-infringement. The developer does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of defects, or that any map, GPS, GNSS, compass, or navigation output will be accurate or timely.

7. Third-party services

The app may rely on third-party services such as map tile providers and Android system components. Those services are outside the developer's control and may change, limit access, or stop working at any time.

The developer is not responsible for the acts, omissions, policies, or availability of those third parties.

8. Changes to the app and these terms

The app may change over time. The developer may update these Terms of Service when the app's features, integrations, or legal requirements change.
